KITA GROUP HOLDS GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY FOR THE RESTORATION AND RENOVATION OF SUNG AN PAGODA

On the morning of September 29 (corresponding to the 15th day of the 8th lunar month in the Year of the Cat), KITA Group solemnly held the groundbreaking ceremony for the restoration and renovation of Sung An Pagoda, located in Thuc Khang Commune, Binh Giang District, Hai Duong Province.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan – Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Council; representatives of the leadership of Thuc Khang Commune; venerable monks and nuns; the Board of Directors of KITA Group; the construction unit VIDC; along with Buddhists and local residents of Chau Khe both in the homeland and living elsewhere.

Mr. Le Van Loi – General Director of KITA Group speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for the restoration and renovation of Sung An Pagoda

In the past, Sung An Pagoda was located on a feng shui site shaped like a lotus flower on the body of a dragon facing the front of the village. According to legend, a Confucian scholar well-versed in geomancy identified a location with a “dragon facing” position near the eastern dyke of the Cuu An River. The ancestors relocated the pagoda there, built it, and named it Lien Hoa Tu (Lotus Pagoda). During the Nguyen Dynasty, in the Bao Dai era, Tan Mui year (1931), the pagoda underwent a major restoration and was renamed Sung An Pagoda, a name it retains to this day.

Over time, as well as through periods of resistance wars against foreign invaders, Sung An Pagoda has deteriorated severely and is in urgent need of planning, repair, and restoration. Structural components such as roof frames, beams, and purlins have been badly damaged by termites and decay, losing their load-bearing capacity; rafters and roof panels are cracked, broken, and completely deteriorated, posing a serious risk of collapse; manually installed roofing tiles are broken and leaking, causing property damage and safety hazards. In addition, the pagoda’s area is limited, lacking sufficient space for local residents and Buddhists to worship and pay their respects.

As a group with 10 years of development, KITA Group not only focuses on business growth but also upholds and preserves the cultural identity of the nation. With this aspiration, the Group has undertaken the restoration and renovation of this meaningful heritage site.

At the ceremony, Mr. Le Van Loi – General Director of KITA Group shared: “Engaging with Vietnam’s spiritual and religious traditions is truly sacred. Throughout KITA Group’s development journey, we have always strived to grow our business in parallel with the nation’s humanistic values. Among them, religious belief holds a sacred and noble place. We hope that once completed, the pagoda will become a spacious, clean, and beautiful cultural and spiritual space, contributing to enriching the spiritual life of the people and Buddhists nationwide.”
