On the morning of September 29 (the 15th day of the 8th lunar month in the Year of the Cat – Quy Mao), KITA Group solemnly held the groundbreaking ceremony for the restoration and renovation of Sung An Pagoda, located in Thuc Khang Commune, Binh Giang District, Hai Duong Province.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan – Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Council, representatives of the Thuc Khang Commune authorities, Venerable monks and nuns, the leadership of KITA Group, the construction unit VIDC, along with numerous Buddhists and local residents from Chau Khe village and surrounding areas.

Mr. Le Van Loi – Chief Executive Officer of KITA Group delivering a speech at the groundbreaking ceremony for the restoration of Sung An Pagoda.
In the past, Sung An Pagoda was located on land shaped like a lotus on the body of a dragon facing the front of the village. According to legend, a scholar well-versed in feng shui identified this location as a site where a dragon converges near the eastern dyke of the Cuu An River. Following his guidance, the ancestors relocated the pagoda to this site and named it Lien Hoa Tu (Lotus Pagoda). During the Nguyen Dynasty, under the reign of Bao Dai in the year Tan Mui (1931), the pagoda underwent a major renovation and was renamed Sung An Pagoda, which it has retained to this day.
Over time and through periods of resistance wars against foreign invaders, Sung An Pagoda has deteriorated severely and is in urgent need of planning, restoration, and renovation. Structural components such as roof frames, beams, and purlins have been damaged by termites and rot, losing their load-bearing capacity; rafters and roofing materials are cracked, broken, and completely decayed, posing a high risk of collapse. The manually installed roof tiles are broken and leaking, causing property damage and safety hazards. In addition, the pagoda’s area is small and lacks sufficient space for local residents and Buddhists to worship and practice their faith.
As a group with 10 years of development, KITA Group not only focuses on business growth but also places great emphasis on preserving and promoting the cultural identity of the nation. With this aspiration, the group has undertaken the restoration and renovation of this meaningful heritage site.

At the ceremony, Mr. Le Van Loi – Chief Executive Officer of KITA Group – shared: “Engaging with Vietnam’s spiritual and religious beliefs is truly sacred. Throughout KITA Group’s development journey, we have always strived to grow our business in parallel with nurturing the nation’s humanistic values. Among these, religious and spiritual beliefs hold a particularly sacred and noble place. We hope that once completed, the pagoda will become a spacious, clean, and beautiful cultural and spiritual space, contributing to enriching the spiritual life of people and Buddhists across the country.”
