On the evening of February 8 (the 27th day of the Lunar New Year), KITA Group, in coordination with the Can Tho Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, held the opening ceremony of the Art Flower Street themed “Celebrating the Glorious Party – Welcoming the Spring of Tan Suu 2021”.
As part of the plan to promote the recovery and development of Can Tho’s tourism industry after the COVID-19 pandemic, and in response to the call from the People’s Committee of Ninh Kieu District, KITA Group – a real estate development group – accompanied the city in organizing the art flower street with the theme “Celebrating the Glorious Party – Welcoming the Spring of Tan Suu 2021”. The event aimed to create a recreational and sightseeing destination for residents of Can Tho City and neighboring areas during the Lunar New Year.
With a length of 240 meters and a width of 20 meters, Can Tho Flower Street is located along Song Hau Park, featuring an open and spacious setting and becoming a prominent highlight of this year’s celebration. The main gate of the flower street stands out with a large, powerful golden buffalo model, symbolizing the folk belief that “the buffalo is the foundation of agriculture,” associated with golden rice harvests. The image conveys aspirations for a new year of prosperity, abundance, and happiness. The artistic installation was harmoniously designed with elements of color, wind, and water, combined with large-scale and small-scale scenic models. The project features more than 57,000 baskets of flowers and ornamental plants from 50 different species, sourced from flower villages in Can Tho, Dong Thap, other Mekong Delta provinces, and Da Lat.
Can Tho Flower Street officially opened to the public at 7:00 p.m. on February 8 and remained open until 10:00 p.m. on the 5th day of the Lunar New Year (from the 27th day of the last lunar month to the 5th day of Tet).
The layout of the flower street consists of three main sections corresponding to three themes: “Can Tho Celebrates the Party – Welcomes the New Spring,” “Can Tho with New Achievements, New Joy,” and “Can Tho’s Aspiration to Rise.” Most of the flower street space was designed and installed using environmentally friendly materials with strong symbolic value and profound meaning, praising and reaffirming absolute confidence in the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, honoring and promoting the distinctive cultural values of Can Tho, and expressing aspirations for national development and progress to new heights.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Do Huu Phuoc, Communications Director of KITA Group, emphasized: “As the developer of Stella Mega City – the Star Megacity located right in the center of Can Tho City, KITA Group believes that beyond developing projects that deliver breakthrough real estate products to customers, it is equally important to join hands with local authorities in implementing meaningful and practical projects for the community. Therefore, KITA Group is honored to accompany the Organizing Committee of Can Tho’s commemorative events and contribute to making the art flower street ‘Celebrating the Glorious Party – Welcoming the Spring of Tan Suu 2021’ even more impressive.”
Through this activity, the organizers aim to introduce the achievements, potential, strengths, and image of the people and cultural beauty of Can Tho City; create recreational and entertainment spaces for residents and tourists during the traditional Lunar New Year; attract investors to the locality; and lay the foundation for economic recovery in Can Tho City in particular and the Mekong Delta region in general, serving as a driving force for socio-economic development.
